It has been a busy start to the second term of 2011. I went to Ferrymead Heritage Park with Room 6 on Friday 6 May - our school wide topic to start the term is Pride of the Past and all classes are visiting Ferrymead to get get a taste of life in the 1900's. All the children get dressed up in costume and attend a school class, do the housework and have a go at baking. They also get to play some games from the 1900's. Some of the Year 6 children were excellent on the stilts although the class lesson was a shock to them particularly the singing of God Save our King and the policy of no questions to the teacher!
On Friday 13 May we had our Families Day - this is where we have activities during the day that include our parents, grandparents and friends. Activities this year included family picket fences, extreme soccer, frolf, open classrooms, dancing, crazy challenges (make up on Dads, apple peeling and weetbix eating) and dodgeball. Parent participation was awesome and all our children had a great day! There was plenty of competition on the extreme sports field! For more photos click here
