Parent Information Evening on Transitions with Professor Sally Peters – Tuesday 24 June 7:00pm at the Leeston Library Community Room. Professor Peters is the author of the Ministry of Education paper “Transition from Early Childhood Education to School” which can be accessed from the Education Counts website. If you wish to attend please let Felicity know as the organisers want to keep a track of the intending numbers (to ensure the venue is the right size). Professor Peters will be running a session for staff on Tuesday afternoon.
Modern Teaching Practice – our teaching staff attended a professional development session last Wednesday with the staff from Southbridge and Leeston Schools on Modern Teaching Practice. This was part of a series of sessions that CORE Education will be doing with the schools in our cluster. Our staff will be learning about Modern Learning Practices and will be considering how we can bring the best aspects into our teaching and learning at our school.
Running alongside this will be a joint evening session for parents of all schools in our cluster, led by Derek Wenmoth of CORE Education. This will be an information learning session about Modern Learning Environments and Modern Teaching Practices. Once the details of this evening are confirmed I will let you know.
