Netball History and Soccer

Our netball team created a small piece of history on Thursday at the Canterbury Primary Schools Winter Tournament by being the joint winners of the Year 5/6 netball tournament. Finishing top of their pool, the team won an overtime semifinal against St Martins. The final went goal for goal against Cust School and ended up an 8 - 8 draw. This is an outstanding achievement by our players and one they should be very proud of.

Our soccer team (pictured in their huddle before one of their games) also competed at the soccer tournament at English Park. While they found the competition tough the players should feel proud of their achievement of making the tournament. They played with PRIDE. Also being able to play on the premier soccer ground in Canterbury made for an exciting day.

On behalf of the players I would like to thank Anna O’Reilly (netball coach), Jasmine Adam (netball umpire), Mr Happer (soccer coach) and Mrs Righton (soccer referee) for their time in preparing our teams and for providing their support to our teams.

Thank you to all supporters at each of the venues your encouragement, yelling and cheering certainly helped our teams. Thank you to those parents who provided transport.
