Support Staff Day –This Wednesday is Support Staff Day. We are very fortunate to have a committed and dedicated support staff team at our school. I acknowledge and appreciate they go over and above their job description and always do their very best for the children of Dunsandel School. Our support staff play a very important and valued role in our school. Our current support staff are:- Heather Burgess (Teacher Aide), Liz Righton (Teacher Aide and Library), Craig Happer (Teacher Aide, Sports Support, Caretaker), Felicity Pluck (School Secretary), Sonia Colenso (Principals PA and Accounts), Joan Buchanan (Cleaner), Kirsty Burlinson (Reading Recovery Teacher) and Jane Righton (DP Release Teacher).
Year 5/6 Choir – I have presented our choir members (pictured) with their choir badges. Special congratulations to Emily G who was announced as our Choir Captain for 2015 – I know Emily will do a fine job leading our choir. I look forward to our choir members working hard to learn their songs and practicing well to ensure they represent our school with PRIDE at the Canterbury Primary Schools Music Festival in October.
Basketball – We currently have a team of Year 5 and 6 children competing as the Dunsandel Lions in a Year 5/6 Primary Schools competition at Lincoln after school on a Monday. The team is coached by Liz Righton. After 2 competition games they have won two and lost one.
