I hope everyone enjoyed the Labour Day weekend – a weekend to enjoy the All Blacks making the World Cup final! Let’s hope we are celebrating a victory on Sunday morning!!
Athletics – Well done and Congratulations to all our children for their awesome efforts at our School Athletics on Friday. It was great to see our children competing with PRIDE. A big thank you to the parents and caregivers who helped with events during the day – your support ensures the events run smoothly. Thank you to my staff for their organisation of the day. Thank you to all parents who came along and supported the children – you help create a good atmosphere for the children. Also thank-you to those parents and caregivers who ran in the Staff/Parent relay. The Ellesmere Zone Athletics are scheduled for Thursday 5th November at Southbridge School. Children who have qualified for these sports will come home with a letter today.
Choir – On Thursday evening our choir sing at the Christchurch Schools Music Festival at Horncastle Arena. Our captain for this special event is Emily. I know she will be a proud captain and I know her and the rest of the choir have been practising hard to ensure they sing as well as they can. The choir does have a busy day with a rehearsal in the morning. Thank you to those parents who are providing transport for the rehearsal. I look forward to hearing our choir sing with PRIDE on Thursday evening and wish them all the very best.
Room 2/3 Orana Park Trip – I have been hearing about the awesome trip the children from Room 2 and 3 had to Orana Park last Thursday. Sounds like the gorilla was a real hit. Thank you to those parents and caregivers who provided support during this trip. It was a highlight to hear that the Orana Park staff commended the children on their behaviour and would welcome them back to Orana Park anytime.
