Rotary Quiz and Zone X Country

Rotary Quiz – Well done and Congratulations to Charlotte and Alex (pictured) who came 1st in the Year 5/6 age group at the Lincoln Rotary Quiz last Tuesday evening. There were definitely some tough questions that had to be answered. If you don’t know how many times an A4 piece of paper can be folded in half or how many hearts an octopus have, or how many bones does a shark have in its body, Charlotte or Alex would be the people to ask.

Ellesmere Zone Cross Country – We had 36 children who ran with heaps of determination at the Zone Cross Country last Thursday. All our children ran with PRIDE which as great to see. We do talk with our children about supporting one another when they are not racing – it made me proud to see this on Thursday and while it is the senior children we expect to take the lead with this, it was fantastic to see children who were at their first Zone sports event supporting and encouraging our runners – it’s awesome to see that team culture from our runners.. Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who came along to support our team. Congratulations to all our runners who qualified for this event and special congratulations to the following children who qualified into top 6 placings

Year 4 – 2nd Boys - Blake, 2nd Girls – Brook

Year 5 – 2nd Boys - Jesse, 5th Boys - Austin, 1st Girls - Paige, 3rd Girls – Keira

Year 6 – 3rd Boys - Aston, 1st Girls – Emma

Children who were placed in the top 6 in the Year 5/6 age group have qualified for the Canterbury Primary School Cross Country. An awesome achievement! This event takes place at Halswell Quarry on 22 June
