Term 2

Welcome to Term 2 for 2016. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday break with their children. I know we had a number of tired children as we got to the end of Term 1 – I hope everyone is rested and ready for Term 2. Today we welcome Miss Georgina Dekker to our staff – Georgina is teaching in Room 6 and I know you will make her feel welcome as she starts her teaching career with us.

ANZAC Day – Thank you to the Year 6 children who led the national anthem and to Lleyton and Joshua who lay the school wreath at the Dunsandel Community ANZAC service.

Padder Tennis – Our Year 5 and 6 Padder Tennis teams came up against some tough opposition when they played Leeston Consolidated School at the end of last term. I was proud of the way our team played and the way they supported one another. Rosa was the captain for this event and I was impressed with her welcome speech. Overall the score was 28-20 to Leeston. Thank you to Mrs Barns and Mr Happer for their organisation of this event and thank you to those parents who came and supported our players.

Rooms 1, 2 and 3 – I had the pleasure of being on their trip to Ashburton at the end of last term. It was great to see our children giggling at the pool and having a fantastic time. They were awesome representatives for our school – I was very impressed. Thank-you to the teachers who organised this trip and to the parents/caregivers who came along
